THE MOTORS - Dancing The Night Away (1978 Old Grey Whistle Test UK TV Appearance) ~ HIGH QUALITY HQ ~- This song is an interesting crossover between prog-rock and punk rock, sometimes pompous, sometimes 'ead bangin' - a grandiose pub rock. I suppose it is true to it's time which is quite an achievement, but I can't decide if it says more about musicians than the muse.
- なんという
誠実な演奏!
魂が震える!
- The song was covered by Cheap Trick on their 1983 album "Next Position Please" in which their version cuts the guitar solo at the beginning and replaced by Zander, Brant and Nielsen chanting "Dancing the Night Away, Dancing the Night Away" their version is much slower-paced compared to the original.
- Oldies but... ;D
- About the tee shirt...You would be more alarmed if you saw him dressed as per " Forget about you " lol
- New wave? Pop? Rock?
- Supposedly one of if not the loudest bands of the era.
- Cheap Trick covered this on their Next Position Please album and did a good job of it.
- I wouldn't get hung up on the t-shirt. I'd just enjoy a great song.
- A slightly unconvincing mix of pub rock and new wave/punk. If only the band had unified their look slightly. The bloke with the (much mangled) Rickenbacker looks like he belongs in a different band completely.
- Don't over react about his t-shirt mate. People can wear whatever they fancy. America preached freedom of speech and democracy. There were (are) many great bands during that era never got their records played on air and I am not surprised at all. The Motors is a good band IMO.
- What does the T-Shirt on the bassist say? Is it a jab at the states? I was a teenager in 1978, but I don't think these guys "made it" in the states. Can't recall hearing their music on the radio here in America and don't think I remember seeing any of their record albums in the music stores at that time. Well, if it is a 'poke' at America it sure looks like he enjoys playing that U.S. made Fender.
- Fantastic !!!!!
- @711honved........ Sorry,I don't know how to continue that chat so added another post.i will load up them doing it.i think ,personally, for such young guys they make a real good job of it.keep an eye out over the next few days.
Also, they did a gig last Friday and in the crowd was Sam spoons from the bonzo dog doo-dah band!!! He stepped up to play along to a joe Jackson song with them. Search on here for the underground Sam spoons.

- My son and his mates band, they are 15-18, do this song in their set. It's awesome to see kids so young playing music like this!
- The best UK New wave pubrock/powerpop band; and mr. Bram Tchaikovsky, a genius.
